The Ginger Story
James Cregeen – Director & Founder
When I was at Edinburgh University studying for my Psychology then Pharmacology degree, I was also launching an events company that ended up throwing some of the best fortnightly and one-off events throughout the year.
Through this journey:
- Science taught me how to measure activity, results and conclusions for them.
- Psychology and Pharmacology taught me more about human behaviour in relation to chemical changes in our body triggered by various forms of stimuli.
- I found the best brand activations on a night stimulated an emotional response in people making the night better and more memorable.
- We all love brands that make our event experience better; they can make us feel loved even if just for a night.
- Even the best brands in the world need to invest in activities that help them be better understood and remembered.
After university, I joined Brand Events London in the sales team, launching events like Taste Festivals and Top Gear Live (MPH at the time). Four years later I went to Sydney and launched these events into Australia.
Launching events internationally taught me some secret ingredients around creativity and thinking differently – always making the brand’s needs a priority alongside the ultimate visitor experience.
It had to become a full-time job, serving more brands and even more events.
Ginger was born.
